Drishti Eye Care Hospital

This hospital’s unique Save Environment- Save Eye Sight programme promotes active participation to protect our planet. Every post-operative patient is given a tree to plant in their village. And any cataract patient arriving at the hospital with a bag full of plastic waste, receives free surgery.

At DECH they build trust by ensuring that every patient has direct access to a member of staff - from their first village screening camp to their final post-operative check. Hospital manager Azhar Khan still gives the daily post-operative briefing. And waters the hospital plants on his one day off.
