Vision Eye Clinic - Patna District

Dr Tarannum Fatima is one of Bihar’s most skilful and experienced paediatric eye surgeons. She has also published many research papers and made presentations abroad highlighting the work being done in Bihar. She is pictured below with Kay charts for testing children’s vision - donated to her by the inventor herself, British orthoptist Hazel Kay. Orthoptists are experts in diagnosing and treating defects in eye movement and problems with how the eyes work together. It is a specialised field in eye care, a service normally only found at large city hospitals in India. We are proud that Second Sight orthoptists have worked with eye doctors in rural Bihar and enabled better care of both paediatric and adult patients.
